A few months later, I am back at Nicole and Cosimo’s house. After their engagement, it’s their wedding day at Villa Poggimele.
The smiling flamboyant bride’s mother welcomes me in the same elegant apartment that caught my eyes the first time. It is about to become the beautiful bridal prepping set.
Nicole is absolutely glowing during the prep. Even if she is nervous, she smiles and her pictures are a clear example of that.

San Bartolomeo at Monte Oliveto
We move in the ancient San Bartolomeo at Monte Oliveto’s church for the wedding ceremony. It is an architectural blueprint overlooking Florence from a unique position with an uncommon view. You can reach it by taking a small road to the church from Piazza Pier Vettori. The church is a Unesco world heritage site. It has its root in 1334 and there are many neoclassical frescos dating from 1500 and altarpieces attributed to the Vasari’s school in it. Leonardo da Vinci designed the Annunciation here. The masterpiece stayed in the church until the year 1800 and now it is on display at the Uffizi Gallery.
Nicole and Cosimo have never lost their complicity and eye contact that is what makes them unique.
Cosimo’s brother delights everyone singing.
The wedding shooting takes place in San Miniato al Monte. It may seem a predictable scenario, but it is an important location for them witnessing their memories. That makes me feel honored to capture all their emotions in a single shot they have been living a dream since their “yes, I do”. They are so excited to be together after many years and in a very special place. Love surrounds them.
Villa Poggimele, a pleasent surprise
The wedding party takes place in Villa Poggimele, a few miles from Florence. The villa is located on a hill from which you can enjoy the architectural and natural beauties of the surrounding. It is an 1800 villa maintaining the original style, with a secular park from which you can see San Gimignano and its towers on a clear day. Since the Villa is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, we decide to take some shots here as well, touched by the warm light of the sunset. We have a nice little meeting with the owner of the Villa who explains to us that we are currently in the most beautiful and important vineyards of the estate.
Nicole took care of everything for the wedding party – from the tableu marriage to the table settings she prepared herself. The catering service provided by Dori from Florence helped her with the mise en place.
